YAY takes part in Victoria AFL's Unity Cup

The Unity Cup is a football tournament run by AFL Victoria. This year, there were 58 teams from across outer, metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria who came together to play in some AFL action. YAY were one of the 58 teams that participated on the day which also featured stalls hosted by the tournament’s sponsors. These included the TAC and Federal Police whose interactive learnings were engaged by the young participants. YAY came close to winning the tournament, becoming runners up in a thrilling semi - final.

Victorian Youth Summit

The Victorian Government’s Youth Summit, brought young people together to learn about the rapid global, technological, social and environmental changes that are transforming the world of work. Young innovators and leaders in business, government and the community were given a platform to speak about their own journey and experiences. Our young people from YAY attended the summit where they learnt how to be better equipped for the future world of work.

YAY engages in a Public Housing Event

YAY participated in a public housing engagement event in South Melbourne, organised by the Member for Albert Park, Martin Foley MP. The event brought residents together to discuss issues concerning the community with the Minister and Labor Candidate for Macnamara, Josh Burns. It also provided a space for young people to interact in workshops and art based activities.

It was a fun day to be a part of as we were given the opportunity to host dance and employment workshops to residents who learnt more about the work we do at YAY.
